Representative News

Vawdon Cup 2010

Vawdon Cup is played between representative teams from all over Sydney. The competition runs from July to late September, and is played on Friday evenings. Finals are played in October.There are Mens, Womens and Mixed competitions, with 2-3 divisions in each.

Last year Norths had one representative team competing at Vawdon Cup. Our Womens Opens team managed to qualify for the finals series in Division 2. In the Semi Final they defeated a strong Manly side 4-2 to advance on the Finals. These finals were played against the Minor Premiers Penrith. After a large defeat earlier in the season, the girls were determined to give the Panthers a run for their money. The half time score was 1-3 but by the end of the game the score was locked up at 4-4. Unfortunately during extra time drop off the girls were unable to continue their second half momentum with Penrith advancing on to the Grand Final with a 5-4 win. Penrith advanced to the Grand Final defeating Campbelltown in extra time.
